Man burned in cellphone blast dies at DMCH

A man, who received burn injuries in a mobile phone explosion in Savar, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Zafar Miah. Hailing from Ruiyer Nag village in Nageswari upazila of Kurigram district, he used to live in a rented house with his family in Palli Bidyut area of Ashulia and work as a security guard in a factory. Family sources said the explosion took place on Saturday morning when Zafar was talking on phone while it was being charged, leaving him along with his wife Dulali Begum injured. Rescued by neighbours, they were taken to a local hospital from where they were shifted to the DMCH. However, Zafar with 72 percent burns on his body succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, doctors said Dulali is now out of danger.
