Bangalee Samagra Museum (BSM) is going to celebrate the 60th year, the Diamond Jubilee, of Bangla Cinema today at 6 pm at National Museum in the capital’s Shahbagh area. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu will be present as chief guest, while Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University AAMS Arefin Siddique will attend the event as the special guest. Dr Anisuzzaman will preside over the programme while Advocate Sultana Kamal will deliver the welcome speech.
Eminent filmmaker Mashihuddin Shaker will pay respect to the film personality M Abdus Samad to mark his 12th death anniversary today. Besides, Anupom Hayat will present a keynote paper on the 60 years of Bangla Cinema on this occasion.
A collage of Bangla Cinema of 60 years will be shown in the programme. Veteran signer Md Khurshid Alam will render some popular songs of his time at the event. Also, artiste Keya Chowdhury will participate in the show.
