England to rest Broad ahead of India series

Sports Reporter

England decided to rest fast bowler Stuart Broad ahead of the long series against India which meant the fast bowler would not get the chance to reach the milestone of 100 Test in Bangladesh.

Broad would have become the third English bowler to play 100 Tests if he plays the second Test against Bangladesh.
“We spoke about it right at the end of last summer, we spoke about it at the beginning of the tour. I'm sure he'd have liked to have got that milestone but this is a case of looking a bit further to the future and he understands the amount of cricket he could play over the next six weeks,” said England captain Alastair Cook of Broad.
“We want other people up and running, we don't want to go to India with too many people not playing any cricket.”
