Broadcast journalism (Television) lab opens at IUB
The Broadcast Journalism (Television) Lab has recently been inaugurated on Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) campus at Bashundhara in the capital, says a press release.
Rashed Chowdhury, chairman of the Board of Trustees, IUB and Prof M Omar Rahman, vice-chancellor, IUB, opened the Lab.
Deans and heads of the departments along with the members of the faculty, management and students were present on the occasion. This new lab will bolster the undergraduate and graduate academic programmes of the Department of Media and Communication.
The learners, from now onwards, will get opportunities of directing production in real-time television studio set up. In near future, this Lab will be upgraded as Campus Television Station.
New committee of BAU Debating Society formed
MYMENSINGH: A 21-member executive committee of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) Debating Society has been formed on Wednesday.
Prof Muhammad Moniruzzaman of Animal Science department and Md Morshed Islam, an MS student of the Horticulture department of BAU, were selected as president and general secretary, respectively. The new committee took over charge at a ceremony held at the conference room of the Teacher Student Centre (TSC) of BAU on Wednesday evening. Prof Dr Md Josimuddin Khan, dean of the Animal Husbandry faculty attended the programme as chief guest.
Other members of the committee are-- Dr Md Mahmudul Hasan Sikder as vice-president, Mehedi Hasan Ratul as joint-secretary, Shakil Mondol as organising secretary, Shihab Sakib as assistant organising secretary, Abu Sayem as publicity and publication secretary, Kamrunnar Choiti and Mokhlesur Rahman as office secretaries, Ragib Hasan as economic secretary, Shibli Sadik as event manager.
Former president of the organisation Prof Md Saidur Rahman and general secretary Nur-e-Ferdausi Aklima, proctor of BAU Prof AKM Zakir Hossain were present at charge took over ceremony, among others.
