Efforts to attain maximum 
benefit from CoP-22 sought

Eight civil society organisations yesterday has organised a seminar in the capital title “CoP 22 Global Climate Conference: Proposal from Civil Society on behalf of Most Vulnerable Population” on the eve of global climate conference to be held in Marrakech, Morocco from 7 to 18 November, says a press release. 
Minister for Environment and Forest Anwar Hossain Monju was chief guest at the programme. 
He said government and civil society should work together for the interest of the country in Marrakech conference. 
[BSS adds: Environment and Forest Minister Anwar Hossain  Manju urged all the stakeholders of the upcoming climate change  conference to play a pivotal role for attaining maximum benefit on behalf of the countries like Bangladesh.
"We have to continue our effort for holding maximum negotiation as the victim country like Bangladesh could reap ultimate benefit from the conference," said the minister.
He added that all the stakeholders including government, civil society and other non-government organizations would play their role from their respective position for resolving the climate change problems.]
Dr Hasan Mahmud MP, chairman Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Environment and Forest, said climate induced migrants issue will 
get top priority in Marrakech climate conference. He was the Chair of the seminar. 
He also said that government is not in favour of any loan or any commercial attitude in climate finance, as Bangladesh is not at all responsible in climate catastrophes, so Bangladesh position is to demand compensation in this regard. 
He also said Bangladesh government will also raise the issue of setting picking year in respect of temperature and mitigation. 
Rezaul Karim Chowdhury of EquityBD the moderator of the seminar mentioned that, government provide access to civil society in the total negotiation process both in country and abroad too.
On behalf of the group key note presentation was given Sharmind Neelormi of CSRL, other speakers are Md Ziaul Haque, Director, Department of Environment, Dr Nilufar Banu, BUP, Qumrul Islam Chowdhury of FEJB, Kawser Rahman of BCJF and Mojahidul Islam Noyan of Oxfam. 
Eight organisations who organise the seminar were BAPA, BCJF, BIPNetCCBD, CDP, CSRL, EquityBD and FEJB.
