Mahmud hopes to bounce back in Dhaka Test

Sports Reporter

Bangladesh team manager Khaled Mahmud Sujon believes that they will bounce back in Dhaka Test against the visiting England following the near-win first Test match in Chittagong.

Bangladesh showcased their outstanding performance in Chittagong Test after coming to play in the big gap of around 15-month. They did their surprise progress in spite of their repeated mistakes. The English side could not think of such spirited fight from Bangladesh in Test. But the visitors have the last laugh as the home side conceded a 22-run defeat to them.
“The errors we did in Chittagong Test, I hope, our boys will not repeat those errors in Dhaka Test. Boys will get down in the field amending their errors. We will try to play our better cricket as much as possible in Dhaka,” said Khaled Mahmud yesterday.
“We will fight with our full strength against the English side. Hopefully we could do better in Dhaka,” Sujon told newsmen after landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Chittagong.
Former captain said that the wickets in Chittagong at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium were fully spin-friendly, where batsmen have been struggled fiercely to get runs. But this time in Dhaka will not be the same.
“The wickets in Mirpur always are different. We seek to get the advantage from wicket in our favour,” Khaled Mahmud, who is also director of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), said.
Bangladesh will take on one of the top-ranking teams England in the second and last Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) on Friday.
BCB has already announced the squad for the second Test, making two changes from Chittagong Test.
Fast bowler Subashis Roy and spin all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain Saikat are poised to make their debut in Test.
