Boy hurt by classmate dies

A schoolboy died after he was beaten by one of his classmates over a trifling matter at Dogacchi village in Sadar upazila yesterday, reports UNB. Witnesses said Sajib, 14, a class VI student of Dogacchi High School and son of Asad Mia, locked into an altercation with his classmate Khairul Islam, 14, son of Habib of the village, over a trifling matter in the morning. Sajib fell sick as Khairul beat him up indiscriminately at one stage of altercation. He was rushed to Pabna General Hospital where doctors declared Sajib dead. Abdul Kuddus, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said hearing the death news of Sajib, local people caught Khairul and handed him over to police.
