UNB

Criminals swooped on police and snatched a warranted accused from them in Tabalerchar in Kutubdia upazila yesterday evening, leaving six policemen injured, reports UNB. The injured -- assistant sub-inspector Aminul Islam, and constables Yousuf, Rezaul, Asim Barua, Ropan Sen and Sani Barua of Kutubdia Police Station -- were taken to upazila health complex. Officer-in-charge of the police station Aungsa Thoyai said a police team, led by Aminul, arrested murder case accused Quader, 23, son of Mahmudul Hossain of the area, from Tabalerchar Bazar around 7 pm. A gang of miscreants attacked the police team while they were taking him to the police station and took him away, he said, adding that additional force rushed in and took the injured to hospital.
