‘Save nature, save planet’

The speakers of a seminar in the port city yesterday urged all to save nature in order to save the earth. 

The Lions Clubs International Chittagong District 315-b4 oraganised the seminar on Nature for Life on Saturday at Chittagong Club. Muqeed Majumdar Babu, chairman of Prokriti O Jibon Foundation said “If the nature is being endangered we will be endangered. We have to save the nature for our well-being. We have to minimize our use otherwise we will put the earth in danger.”
 “We have to use the resources in such way that it will not be perilous for us.  If there is no nature we will lose all. If there is nature then we will able to live, one is related to other. We have to come forward to save the nature. It is possible by creating awareness,” added Muqeed Majumdar Babu.
He also demanded to add a chapter about nature in text books as everyone has right to know about nature.
In the seminar keynote speaker was Md Zafar Alam, joint secretary and director administration and planning of Chittagong Port Authority said, “In every moment we are creating pollution for our relaxation which are enlarging our carbon footprint.  One-third of Bangladesh will be gone under water and the lower- land will be flooded due to the carbon emission.”
 “Now it is alarming time. We have to be awake to save our nature to save our planet and to remain keep the world for inhabitable for our future generation,” said Zafar Alam.
Professor Dr Mozaffor Hossain, professor of Institute of forestry and environmental science of Chittagong University spoke as special guest.  
The seminar was inaugurated by Shah Alam Babul, district governor while first  district vice governor Manjurul Alam Manju,  second vice district governor Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, cabinet secretary Ln Osman Gani, Leo district president Khalil Ullah Chowdhury Sakib, lions leaders, environmentalists were present among others.
