Two-day job fair held at RUET
Offering an opportunity to students to secure employment, a two-day job fair began for the second time at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) campus on Friday.
RUET’s Office of the Students Welfare and RUET Carrier Forum (RCF) jointly organised the fair. More than 12 famous and big companies, including Anwar Ispat, BSRM and Runner, Tiger cement, Pran RFL Automobiles, took part in the event.
RUET Vice-chancellor Prof Rafiqul Alam Beg attended the opening session as the chief guest. Registrar-in-Charge Prof Dr Mosharraf Hossain, Students Welfare Director Prof Dr NHM Kamruzzaman and Deputy Director Sidhwartha Shanker Shaha also spoke.
Prof Rafique Beg said the fair is an excellent platform for eligible candidates to get good jobs. He urged the candidates to avail the opportunity properly.

Seminar on Real World in IT held at BUBT
BUBT IT CLUB organised a seminar on “Professional Preparation for Real World in IT, Introduction to Outsourcing and Cyber Security & Awareness” recently in the hall room of BUBT in Mirpur permanent campus, says a press release.
Eamir Ahmed, managing director, Crave Tech, Creativeers, Nextgteam, Next G Design, Maksudul Islam, Founder Director of ODIN and Tanvir Hassan Zoha, Cyber Security Expert, CT Director of Operation, Digital Detective were the keynote speakers of the seminar. A large number of students were present at the seminar. The speakers discussed different issues relating to IT. 
Tanvir Hassan Zoha discussed the present situation of cyber security in Bangladesh and the barriers in its proper implementation. They emphasized that students should be careful about cyber security related issues. Prof Dr Shafique Ahmed Siddique, Member, BUBT Trust and Convenor, Academic Advisory Committee, BUBT was present at the seminar as the chief guest  and Prof Md. Adu Saleh, Vice-chancellor, BUBT presided over the seminar. 

River Olympiad held at Begum Rokeya University
RANGPUR: The young generations should work continuously to create social consciousness for saving the rivers culturally by reviving navigability to improve environment, ecology and biodiversity.
The opinion came on Thursday at a discussion arranged in the divisional level National River Olympiad -2016 organised by Riverine People and ‘Samokal Suhrid Somabesh’ at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) campus.
Chairman of National River Protection Commission and former Secretary Atharul Islam inaugurated written examinations on rivers in the Olympiad participated by 220 students of the university.
Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr AKM Nurun Nabi attended it as chief guest with Director of Riverine People Dr Tuhin Wadud in the chair.
Secretary General of Riverine People Sheikh Rokan, its Senator Advocate Abraham Lincon and Assistant Editor of the Daily Samokal Sirajul Islam Abed addressed, among others.
The speakers put emphasis on making comprehensive efforts in protecting the rivers, ensuring better management to keep those alive for improving environment to save national heritage, culture as well as civilisation.
Terming National River Olympiad as an unprecedented event, Asharul Islam said that the young generation would definitely bring back navigability of the rivers in future.
