The programme on ‘let us introduce with biodiversity of nature for survival of human’ was held at Padda Pukur garden, at present BIWTA office, in the city on Friday.
Charukala Barisal organised the programme calling a visit on the arena of biodiversity and an arranged children-juvenile painting quiz competition and exhibition of books and periodicals on nature, introducing with different varieties of trees, their origin, local and scientific names etc.
At the end of the programme students took oaths for voluntarily working to save nature.
The participants of painting competition were awarded prizes and certificates.
Among others naturalist Dwijen Sharma, his wife Devi Sharma, Altaf Hossain, president Charukala Barisal, Anisur Rahman Swapan, president Barisal Reporters Unity, Sushanta Ghosh, journalist and about hundred students and their guardians attended the programme.
While addressing the participants, naturalist Dwijen Sharma said “Trees are inseparable part of nature and human being could not survive without protection of nature”.
So, all of us should work for saving trees for own interest of surviving ourselves, Dwijen Sharma added. He also requested the guardians and teachers to up bring their children with consciousness about nature and developing their mentality for planting and saving trees.
