A 15- member team left Dhaka yesterday for Korea to take part in a 14-day long programme as part of Korea International Cooperation Agency’s country focused multi-year training programme (2016 to 2018) especially designed for Bangladesh titled, ‘Food Safety Management’, says a press release.
On behalf of the Republic of Korea, KOICA in collaboration with Korea Institute for Food Safety Management Accreditation jointly arranged fellowship programme to enhance the quality of food management system in Bangladesh.
It is widely known that the management of food safety is significantly a serious matter in Bangladesh and scientific evidence indicates widespread food safety issues at different levels of the value chain from production and processing to retail and consumption. The most common use of harmful preservatives used in food is largely formalin known hazardous to health. Harmful preservatives to extend its shelf-life continue to be present in frightening quantities in almost every kind of food available in the local markets.
