Policeman crushed under truck

RAJSHAHI: A policeman was killed as a truck hit his bike in Court Station Charkhutar Mor area on Chapainawabganj-Rajshahi highway in the city on Friday night, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as assistant sub-inspector of traffic police Abdul Hamid, 52, hailing from Chapainawabganj district.
Ifte Khayer Alam, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) said a speeding truck hit Hamid’s bike in the area while he was returning home around 11pm, leaving him critically injured.
Hamid was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) where doctor declared him dead.
A case was filed in this connection.
