Khaleda, Fakhrul invited to AL nat’l council

Awami League yesterday invited BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to join their party's 20th national council scheduled to be held on October 22-23 at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital, reports UNB. A five-member ruling party delegation, led by Awami League's deputy office secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, went to BNP's Nayapaltan central office around 11:15 am and met secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Later, they handed over the invitation cards to him. The other delegation members were Awami League Central Committee member Aminul Islam, assistant secretary Riazul Kabir Kawser, Hasan Tarique Arif and Anisur Rahman. Mrinal Kanti said, "We have come here to invite BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and handed over the invitation cards. We hope they'll join our national council."
