BRUR celebrates 8th founding anniversary
RANGPUR: Vice- chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University Professor Dr AKM Nurun Nabi today said the university was being run in a way which will help it attain the goal of an international standard institution and world class education.
To achieve the goal, I seek cooperation from the teachers, students, officialsand employees of the institution, said Dr Nabi, also a noted population scientist,and called upon them for discharging their responsibilities with utmost dedication.
The ice-chancellor (VC) was addressing a post-rally discussion arranged on the Independent Memorial premises inside the campus in observance of the eighth founding anniversary of the university as the chief guest.
Earlier, the VC formally inaugurated the celebration by releasing balloons in the morning followed by releasing of eight pigeons by guests.
Later, the Vice-chancellor (VC) led a huge colourful procession that paraded the campus and its adjoining streets with teachers, students, officials and employees joining it.
Convener of the Founding Anniversary Celebration Committee Professor Dr Nazmul Alam presided over the discussion.
Renowned artist Rathindranath Roy, Reproductive Health and Pediatric Specialist Dr Halida Hanum Akhter, Dean of the Faculty of Arts of BRUR Professor Dr Saidul Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Science Professor Dr Tazul Islam, Dean of the faculty of Business Studies professor Dr Matiur Rahman and Mrs Gul Nahar Nabi, addressed as special guests.
Later, the invited guests, teachers, students, officials and employees of the university joined a cultural evening.
