Threat to JU teacher

Human chain formed

The teachers and students of Public Administration department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) formed a human chain on the campus yesterday to protest against the threat to its associate professor Jebunnesa through a fake facebook account. The human chain was formed at the foot of Amar Ekushey sculpture on the campus around 12pm where around 200 students of the department took part.

The chairman of the department Dr Sayedur Rahman strongly condemned the disgusting act and said such a threat to a teacher is not accepted.
Associate Professor Halima Haque, Hare Krisna Kundu, Lecturer Sabiha Mahbub, Ahsan Abdullah, Mahfujur Rahman and Nusrat Jahan Arefin of Public Administration department, were present, among others.
Earlier, Jebunnesa got a death threat through a fake facebook account named Rita Nahar on October 18 (Tuesday). Later, JU authority filed a general diary with Ashulia polices station when Jebunnesa gave a written complaint to vice-chancellor Prof Farjana Islam is this connection. Mentionable, this associate professor is now engaged with different social activities specially anti-drug movement on JU campus.
