Drug trader gets 10yrs jail

RAJSHAHI: A man was sentenced to life imprisonment by a trial court here on Wednesday on charge of possessing 70 grams of heroin in the district around three years back, reports BSS.
Divisional Special Judge Zakiya Parveen found him guilty of the charge and pronounced the verdict in his presence.
The convict identified as Mithun Ali, 42, son of Ashir Ali of Jhalmalia village under Puthiya Upazila was also fined Taka 10,000 and in default to suffer one year more in jail.
According to the prosecution story, in brief, is that Mithun Ali was arrested with 70 grams of heroin from his locality on November 4, 2013. Subsequently, a case had been lodged with the concerned police station. On completion of investigation, police pressed charges accusing him.
