Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday urged the field level education officers to do their jobs properly as there are allegations that some of them are not properly doing their jobs.
He said proper supervision and monitoring is very important in field level to ensure the expansion of education and quality education in secondary level.
While addressing as the chief guest at a workshop on ‘qualitative secondary education: role of field level officers of Secondary Education Sector Investment Program (SESIP)’ at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in the capital, the minister said, “The field level education officers always think of their jobs and promotions, rather pay full attention to their work.” “When we get information that there are irregularities in the field levels, it hurts us. I would request you to conduct your jobs properly,” he added.
He also said that the teachers are the driving force of education and if they don’t do their task properly, all arrangement of education would be failed. The minister also warned that those who are attacking the female students would not be spared. “Stringent action would be taken against the perpetrators who are attacking the female students. None will be spared. We need social movement in this regard,” he added. Education secretary Sohrab Hossain said, “The achievement of quality education is a tough job.
Only attention and cordiality of the teachers is enough to ensure quality education.” He also said that the government would make a law so that the teachers can give their full attention to the classrooms instead of coaching only.
