Tree fair draws huge crowd

KHULNA: Huge number of crowd, especially the lovers of nature, started visiting Khulna divisional tree fair at Jatisangha Shishu Park (United Nation Children Park) in the city.
The 15-day long tree fair and tree plantation campaign in Khulna division-2015 begun on June 20 at Jatisangha Shishu Park (United Nation Children Park) in the city with a theme 'plant trees at hill, plain and coastal lands.'
Khulna district administration, Khulna district agriculture extension department and west zone of Khulna forest division arranged the fair.
Students of different secondary and higher level school, madrasa and college in the city and district are buying trees specially fruits and flower trees from the fair.
A total of 24009 trees were sold worth aboutTk 16 .94 lakh in last 13 days from the tree fair, said Zahir Ahmed, divisional forest officer of west Sundarban department.
