BNP vice chairman Abdullah Al Noman yesterday alleged that Awami League is going to hold its national council spending its ‘ill-gotten’ money, UNB reports.
Speaking at a discussion, he also claimed that questions have risen in public mind over the spending of crores of taka for the ruling party’s ‘luxurious’ council.
“Big gates and archways are being made spending huge money...it’s an extravagance for Awami League’s council. No one knows where from this big amount of money is coming,” Noman said.
He further said, “I wan to urge the ruling party to conduct a survey to know the perception of people about their council. Watching the gates of it, people get surprised and say this council is being held with ill-gotten money.”
Youth Forum, a pro-BNP platform, arranged the programme at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity in memory of BNP standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah, who died on September 27 in Singapore.
He also called upon the ruling party to take steps so that the city dwellers do not suffer during the two-day council.
