BNP demands Rizvi�s release

Claiming that their party joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi is seriously ill, BNP yesterday demanded the government immediately release him on bail considering his deteriorating health condition.
In a statement, party spokesman Asaduzzaman Ripon said, “Rizvi has long bee suffering from various diseases. His health condition has turned complicated due to his stay in jail over five months with chronic illness.”
He said Rizvi has been suffering from stomach problem since 1984 as he sustained suffered bullet by the then BGB members in his abdomen during the anti-autocracy movement. “As his intestine got damaged badly by the bullet and a surgery was carried out in his food canal, a block often creates there causing acute abdominal pain.”
