Test cricket mania hits the fever pitch as Bangladesh end its 15-month long hiatus from the longer version with the first Test against England today at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. The match starts at 10 pm.

Even though there was sense of discomfort and rustiness, Bangladesh wants to shake it off by executing a blueprint of spin-web against a rampant England who has been so dominant in Test cricket for years.
Bangladesh packed their squad with spinners, indicating they would expose the England’s traditional vulnerability against spin in the typical sub-continent pitch.
“Taking 20 wickets on a flat wicket is difficult. So we have planned a little differently, and if the wicket helps our strength then I believe that we have enough quality bowlers that can take 20 wickets. And if we take our chances that is of course possible,” Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim said.

For the first Test, Bangladesh included four uncapped players amongst whom three—Sabbir Rahman, Mehedi Hasan Miraj and Kamrul Islam Rabbi are likely to debut.
Bangladesh lost just two Tests in their last 12 over the last two years but that stat couldn’t hide their embarrassing track record in this format—-they have lost 71, drawn 15 and won just seven that too against low profile Zimbabwe and another lowly ranked West Indies—in 93 Tests.
Most of the Tests they have drawn off late by the blessings of rain. England remains unbeaten against Bangladesh so far after playing eight Tests.
