England captain Alastair Cook was unfazed by the Bangladesh’s plan of catching them in spin-web as he would like to make his record Test memorable one.

Cook is set to overtake Alec Stewart’s tally of 133 Tests today when his side face Bangladesh in the first Test here and at the same time certainly want to gift his new born baby something with a special performance.
The English Test captain came to Bangladesh with the ODI contingent in a bid to cope with the conditions but had to take a leave due the birth of his second daughter. However his arrival to Chittagong was delayed for that reason but he is now prepared to face mountain to climb.
It was against Bangladesh in 2010, when Andrew Strauss rested from a tour, that Cook led England for the first time in Test cricket. He returns for this two match series which kicks off a run of seven Tests due to end on Dec 20, including a five match series against India.
Bangladesh have picked only two seamers in their 14 man squad and are expected to line up with four spinners so England will be tested immediately by the turning ball.
“I expect a good wicket. Last time I was here in 2010 it was good wicket, maybe they didn't deteriorate as much as they thought they would,” he said. “Knowing the squad now Bangladesh have picked a lot of spinners for this game, so we assume it will turn later on. As always in subcontinent cricket, the first few days can be batting paradises and then you have to set the game up and wickets can fall a lot quicker on days four and five.”
While England had already played 10 tests in this year, Bangladesh didn’t play any match since their test series against South Africa 15 months ago. Captain Cook however admitted their experience as a Test nation would be an advantage for him.
“I think that could be an advantage. You get into a rhythm of playing Test cricket, there’s no doubt about it. They might be a bit more attacking. As we saw in the one-day series, Bangladesh are a hugely improved cricketing nation over the last three or four years. There’s talent, which we hadn't necessarily seen in the past, and a pathway through for guys. I think it will be a really good test for us,” he pointed out.
Ranked No 4 in the ICC rankings, the Three Lions have a fairly settled squad but have a few worries with key pace bowler James Anderson missing due to shoulder injury.
