Youth to die for killing schoolboy in Gazipur

GAZIPUR: A court here yesterday sentenced a youth to death for killing a schoolboy in Gazipur in 2007, reports BSS.
The court also fined him Taka 10,000. Additional District and Sessions Judge M Fajle Elahi Bhuiyan pronounced the verdict. According to court officials the convict is Nurul Islam, 32, son of Hamid Ali, a resident of Khudebarmi area in Sadar upazila. 
The prosecution story, in brief, is that Nurul stabbed schoolboy Salim over a trifle matter on January 9, 2007. Critically injured Salim succumbed to his injuries at Sadar hospital on the same day.
After the incident, victim’s father Hazrat Ali filed a murder case with Joydebpur Thana. Sub inspector Shamim Hossain, also investigation officer of the case, after investigation submitted charge-sheet with the court on March 9, 2007 against Nurul. Later, the judge examining 11 witnesses and relevant evidences announced the judgment.
