Women cricket team starts training under coach Capel

David Capel, the new head coach of Bangladesh women’s cricket team, kickstarted his job after taking the charge of the Tigress on October 15.
After holding the fielding and batting practice in two successive days, the team was played a practice match under the supervision of the English coach at the BCB-National Cricket Academy (NCA) ground yesterday.
Former England all-rounder David Capel will work with Jahanara Alam and party until the end of Bangladesh’s campaign in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier to be held in Sri Lanka in February 2017.
 But his first assignment will start with the next month’s Women’s Asia Cup in Thailand, where India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and the hosts Thailand will also participate with Bangladesh.
Nepal and Thailand confirmed their place in Asia Cup following their Asia Cup qualifier, which was held in Hong Kong recently. The fixture and itinerary of the six-nation tournament is not fixed yet.
But the tournament will begin on November 27. Bangladesh will leave Dhaka for Bangkok on November 25, just two days ahead of the all Asian meet.
“We have Asia Cup ahead. But our ultimate target is to qualify the World Cup Qualifier which will be held in Sri Lanka in February,” said Athar Ali.
