Workshop on enhancement of teaching quality held
RAJSHAHI: A day-long workshop objective to enable the quality of teaching at foundation level courses titled ‘Enhancement of Teaching Quality’ was held at the campus auditorium of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) yesterday.
The programme was organised by Institutional Quality Insurance Cell of RUET (IQIAC) in assistance with Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) of the University Grants Commission, Bangladesh.
RUET Vice Chancellor Prof Rafiqul Alam Beg was the chief guest while director of IQIAC and also head of Industrial and Production Engineering Department of the university Prof Mosarrof Hossain was in the chair.
Md Shahid Uz Zaman, dean, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was special guest.
Faculty members from different departments participated in the workshop while manager of IQIAC office Tania Pervin conducted it.

Sheikh Russel's birth anniv observed at RU
RAJSHAHI: The 52nd birth anniversary of Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was observed at Rajshahi University (RU) yesterday.
Marking the day, RU authorities arranged discussion, painting and handwriting competitions and handed over prizes among the winners in different categories at Sheikh Russel Model School on RU campus.
RU Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammod Mizanuddin was the chief while Momena Zinat, head of Sheikh Russel Model School was in the chair.
RU Pro-vice-chancellor Prof Chawdhury Sarwar Jahan, Acting Treasurer Prof Sayenuddin, Proctor Mojibul Haque Azad, Student Advisor Prof Mizanur Rahman Khan, Public Administrator Prof Mosiur Rahman, Chief Engineer Sirajom Monira, among others, were present as the special guests.
After the discussion, the chief guest distributed prizes among the winners of the competitions.
On October 18, 1964, Sheikh Russell was born at the historic Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi.
He was killed along with most of his family members on August 15, 1975 when he was a forth grader at University Laboratory School.
