Missing boy found at ‘female AL leader house’ in Khulna

UNB

KHULNA: Police rescued a schoolboy allegedly from the house of a local female Awami League leader in the city on Monday, three months after he went missing, reports UNB.
The rescued boy was identified as Asadul Islam, 12, a Class-IV student of Ghugrakathi Government Primary School and son of M Abul Gazi of Kholar-Chalk village in Koyra upazila of the district.
Sub-inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Ibad Ali said miscreants kidnapped Asadul three months ago on his way to school.
One month back, family members came to know that Asadul was kept at the house of Khulna city’s ward-24 unit Awami League president Shahanur Begum. Family members complained to the DB office as she did not return Asadul to the family members. A team of detectives launched a drive at the house of Shahanur on Monday noon and rescued the boy. Contacted, Shahanur claimed she bought Asadul from a rickshaw-puller, Nazrul, by Tk 5,000.
