A mobile court of Chittagong District Administration on Monday conducting drive at different fish markets in Chittagong fined Tk 30,000 to six fish sellers for mixing fabric colour with fish and selling ruhi fish those are less then nine inches.
The mobile court was led by Md. Forkaqn Elahi Anupam, executive magistrate of Chittagong district administration.
The court fined Tk 10,000 to Md Jashim and Md Alamgir for selling less than nine inches ruhi fish that are legally banned as well as seized 15kg of fish in Fisherighat area, for the same reason one Sabbir Ahmed was fined Tk 5,000 at Pahartoli Market and seized 6.8kg fish.
Later conducting another drive at Riazuddin bazar, three fish seller named Alam, Zakir Hossain and Nurul Haque were fined Tk 15,000 for mixing fabric colour with sea fish to look fresh that are seriously harmful to human health. At that time 31kg fish were seized, said the mobile court sources. During the drive Fisheries officer Md Kamal Uddin were present.
