Veteran leftist politician Comrade Ajay Roy passed away at his residence in Dhanmondi area of the capital on Monday morning at the age of 88, reports UNB. Roy had been suffering from old age complications and breathed his last in the morning, said a press release of United National Awami Party (UNAP). Roy, president of Sammilita Samajik Andolon, was also a coordinator of a platform against communalism and militancy. After prolong illness, Roy breathed his last at 5:30am, said a press release issued by Workers Party of Bangladesh. Roy’s body has been kept at the Birdem Hospital and his body will be taken to the Central Shaheed Minar on Wednesday morning to allow people to pay their last tribute. His body will be buried at his ancestral home in Kadiati of Kishoreganj, according to his last wish.
