The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday arrested an official of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) from Gazipur in a graft case.
An ACC team, led by its director Syed Iqbal Hossain, arrested BRTA assistant director Md Abdul Hannan from BRTA’s Gazipur Office, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
Earlier on Monday, the ACC filed a case against him with Manikganj Police Station for allegedly registering cars violating government rules.
When Abdul Hannan was an assistant director at BRTA Manikganj Circle during January 2009 to April 2011, he allowed registration of a number of cars preparing fake documents and violating rules, according to the case statement.
