The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT-BD) yesterday took the war crimes charges brought against eight alleged Razakars from Muktagacha, Mymensingh into cognisance and set December 13 for further hearing the case, reports BSS.
“The tribunal set the date for holding indictment hearing. The court has also asked us to submit a report on execution of its order to arrest the accused,” said prosecutor Abul Kalam.
Of the accused, Rezaul Karim alias Akkas Moulavi, ABM Eunus Ali Moulavi, Md Eunus Ali and Md Omar Faruk are in jail, while their cohorts Md Belayet Hossain, Md Nasir Uddin, Md Ismail and Qazi Badruzzaman are still on run.
The prosecution on September 18 submitted formal charge against the accused, bringing eight charges of crimes against humanity including murder, genocide and looting.
