The Purnava 1st National Wheelchair Cricket tournament begins today at Paltan ground adjoining Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Four teams—Rajshahi Warriors, Khulna Cyclone, Chittagong Riders and Dhaka Giant—will take part in the daylong meet, sponsored by country’s one of the leading drug manufacturer companies Reneta.
Thirty two cricketers, who lost strength in their leg by birth or by physical accident, split into four groups, will take part in this special competition.
Former and current cricketers are expected to present in the ground to encourage the wheelchair cricketers.
