Captain Alastair Cook will link with up with the England squad in Bangladesh later on Monday after attending the birth of his second child, reports The Independent.
Cook was always expected to rejoin the team ahead of the first Test, which gets under way in Chittagong on Thursday, and will now do so after his wife gave birth to a baby girl.
Cook has missed both of England's practice matches but came out to Bangladesh early during the tourists' ODI series win to acclimatise, and fast bowler Steven Finn believes the skipper will have few problems settling back in.
The 31-year-old has a sensational record in Asia with an average above 60, with eight hundreds, the first of which came on his Test bow in India 10 years ago following a last-minute dash there from the Caribbean.
Finn said on Sunday: "I think you'd be a bit worried if it was someone who was less experienced, I suppose, and hadn't experienced these conditions before and spent time in the middle because that's important.
"The amount of cricket that Cooky's played in the subcontinent, I think he'll fit back in seamlessly."
