Railways Minister Mazibul Hoque yesterday said more coaches would be added to the fleet of Bangladesh Railway (BR) to ferry the homebound people ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr, reports BSS.
"Officials and employees of Bangladesh Railway are working relentlessly to offer quality and hassle-free services to the people ahead of Eid and many new initiatives have already been taken to this end,” he said while visiting the renovation works of coaches and inaugurating the Demu Train on Chittagong-Hathazari route in Chittagong Railway Station.
The minister said Bangladesh Railway is also working to maintain the schedule time of train movement and ruin the selling of ticket in black market.
During the visit of Bangladesh Railway workshop, Mazibul said people from all walks of lives are now travelling on train as the quality of services of BR has been increased than any other time in the past.
“We are continuing our endeavour round the clock to offer a quality and safe journey during the Eid,” he added.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways Ministry ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, MP, Mainuddin Khan Badol, MP and BR Director General Amzad Hossain, among others, spoke on the occasion with Additional Secretary of Railway Ministry Komol Krishna Battacharya in the chair.
