South Asia Economic Summit ends with hope of prosperity

The two-day Ninth South Asia Economic Summit ended with a message “Towards an inclusive, just and peaceful society in South Asia by 2030” yesterday at a hotel in the capital.

“Sources of Structural injustice are the hindrances to build inclusive, just and peaceful society. These are; inequitable access to productive assets, participation in inequitable market, inequitable access to human development and unjust governance,” said Chairman of CPD (Centre for Policy Dialogue) Professor Rehman Sobhan at the ending note of the summit.  
“To reduce the inequality and balance the equation of the market, farmers need to access towards four things; transport, technologies, market, and products,” he also added.
“100 speakers and almost 98 countries have been participating in this summit. It shows the profoundness of this summit towards the world. South Asian economy is the fastest growing economy and one-fourth of the world’s population live in south-Asia,” said State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam.
“To overcome the challenges towards the regional integration and economic development we need to tie our hands jointly and tightly together because develop is a share prosperity,” he said at the end note.
“For achieving inclusive economic growth we need to address some issues like; skill young workers, poverty reduction, share opportunities, new market penetration, and reducing inequality towards education,” said Speaker of the National Parliament Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
“The future belongs to them who has within of a dream,” she said with an end note.
Previously, there was a seminar regarding; promoting sustainable industrialisation and opportunities for job creation and income generation where lots of prominent guests were participated and placed their views.
“Asia is creating 1 billionaire in every three days, so that’s signify how pivotal the economic sustainability of Asian economy right now. Inequality is a problem in south Asia, but it is commendable about how China has come out from the poverty in the history of the world,” said MCCI President Syed Nasim Manzur.
