Orientation programmes held at EU
The orientation programmes for the students of undergraduate and graduate programmes of the fall semester of Eastern University (EU) were held at the University Plaza.
Md Azizul Islam, chairman, Alif Group, was the chief guest in the undergraduate programme and Anu Muhammad, Professor of Economics of Jahangirnagar University, was present as chief guest in the graduate programme.
Prof AKM Saiful Majid, director of IBA of DU and Member of the Board of Trustees of EU, and Mohammed Ali Azzam, member of the Board of Trustees of EU, were present as the special guesta while Prof Abdur Rab, vice-chancellor of EU, presided over the programme.
The Chief Guests congratulated the newly admitted students and shared their success stories in the education and corporate sector.
Pro-Vice chancellor; treasurer; deans; advisor; chairpersons; registrar; members of alumni; teachers and officials of EU were also spoke on the occasion.
KUET classes resume
KHULNA: Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) reopened yesterday after a week-long vacation.
The dormitories of the university opened on Saturday afternoon, said a press release here yesterday. Classes and examinations will be held as per earlier schedule, the release said.
KUET was closed on October 9 on the occasion of Durga Puja, the largest festival of Hindu community, and the holy Ashura.
