Jets, Glory stay unbeaten in A-League

AFP, SYDNEY: Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory won Sunday to keep their unbeaten starts to Australia's A-League new season behind joint leaders Sydney FC and Melbourne City.
Newcastle trounced out-of-sorts Brisbane Roar 4-0 at home and Glory put away New Zealand's Wellington Phoenix 2-0 in Perth.
The Jets grew in confidence after an early own goal from Roar defender Jack Hingert and finished over the top of Brisbane with further goals from Nigel Boogaard, Steven Ugarkovic and former Roar youngster Devante Clut.
Spaniard Diego Castro gave Perth the lead with a 48th-minute penalty and Serbian midfielder Nebojsa Marinkovic clinched the points with a owerful volley in the 66th minute.
