BFF chief says after Thimpu tragedy

Kazi Mohamemd Salahuddin, president of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), expressed his disappointed at Bangladesh team’ recent shocking 3-1 defeat at the hands of Bhutan in the AFC Cup qualifying round in Thimpu.

Salahuddin first of all admitted it was their failures – “Of course it is sad time for our football after going down to Bhutan. I also guessed the heartbreaking result would waiting for us because in the recent past we are not at all showing good in international football.”
The BFF president along with senior vice vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedi faced the media for the first time after the Thimpu tragedy.
 “What I did not do for the national team, in accordance with our ability we provided all kinds of supports with foreign trainers, coaches physio and arranged  practice matches on foreign soil to cheer up the team but all went in vain. Really it was very unfortunate.”
“However, taking lesson from this  kind of horrible situation, we will make a fresh start and we will work with the youth football, we have already chalked out a development program and prepared a calendar.”
“The Suhrawardi Cup and Sher-e-Bangla Cup youth football will also be organised which are in our plans. A FIFA delegation is coming next month, after their approval our plans and strategy to go forward, we will go for action.”
“I promise you and committed to all that we will certainly make our programme success, if we fail then I will just leave the chair,” Salahuddin said replying to a query. 
Replying to another query the BFF president said, “In our last three tenures we worked on domestic league and for it’s continuity and also worked with national team but we could not get success.”
Abdus Salam Murshedi, said, “No one can accept this result, we are shocked to see such poor performance in Thimpu. This is our third term on the chair, we met different kinds of challenge in the past of which some of them could overcome but could not develop the national team, tried to bring the team to a certain level but failed. This time we will take new steps to get rid of all failures of the past.”
