Rabbi, Miraz await Test debut

Unheralded Kamrul Islam Rabbi coupled with Mehedi Hasan Miraz named in the 14-member Bangladesh squad for the first Test of the two-match Test series against the visiting English side.  

Of them, fast bowler Kamrul Islam Rabbi earlier got his first call-up to the T20 squad against Zimbabwe ahead of the last World T20 but is yet to make his international debut.
After being seen his name in the 14-man Bangladesh squad, Rabbi this time expressed his optimism to at least play for the team.
“Earlier I got my first call-up to the T20 squad but could not get down in the field as the member of the playing XI. But I this time hope for playing,” said Kamrul Islam Rabbi yesterday. 
“I will try my all-out efforts for the team if I get chance to play against England in Chittagong,” Rabbi told The Independent over mobile phone.
The right-handed quick drew the attention of the selectors for his consistent bowling capability that he showcased in the domestic league and tournaments. Rabbi amongst the local bowlers claimed the highest 27 wickets with the best of 4-38 in the last Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
  When asked if there is any personal plan surrounding the debut match, Barisal-born seamer said, “I have my own plan in the match. But still  I have to follow the plans of coach and captain.” 
“The surface in Chittagong is tough for seamers but I will give my effort to justify my selection,” he added.
On the other hand, it is surprising thing for Miraz, who broke into the Test squad just six months after the completion of his Under-19 rank. 
At home yard Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket Team led by Miraz missed to lift the trophy for a little while in the last ICC Under-19 World Cup, where the hosts side were the most favourite than other nations. 
Spin all-rounder Mehedi Hasan meanwhile hogged the limelight with his wicket-taking ability that he showed at every step. He is going on fighting in same pace with senior players in domestic circuit.
His inclusion will surely bolster the spin battery of Bangladesh with ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and Taijul Islam. Sabbir Rahman and Nurul Hasan are the other two rookies in the Test squad.
