England stand-in captain Jos Buttler believed that the series victory over a tough Bangladesh in a tough condition would give them morale boost ahead of their next assignment in India where the condition would be similar to what they got here.

Buttler stood tall as a captain in his first assignment to be instrumental in his side’s 2-1 victory over Bangladesh even though he lost his temper during the second match as he engaged a verbal spat with the home side players.
“I think in the coming days we will reflect on it more. I don’t think we can underestimate what we have achieved here; it’s a tough place to come. It’s been a fantastic tour the crowd has been fantastic. We have been looked after brilliantly and we have had fantastic series.  It’s been a great series and it’s always great to win as we are pretty young and inexperienced team, we will learn a lot from here,” Buttler said.
“The next one day series is in India where the crowd will be very similar. When you do something good there is silence obviously and when the opposition were on top that’s definite, you get used to the more you play in that environment. It’s a tough environment to play in.”
At the end, Buttler is happy to clinch the series in his first assignment as captain. He said he was nervous but he enjoyed the role he was given.
“I was nervous and anxious a little bit about doing it but I think I enjoyed the role and to come away with a series win is fantastic. It’s group of talented and skillful bunch and, it’s very good to be in charge of them I really enjoyed it.”
Apart from a tough Bangladesh side, Buttler and his side also had to battle with a roaring crowd who adorably chanted for the side with deafening sounds, something which could easily break psychologically down the opponents.
“The character we showed really is fantastic. Skill-wise we were up for it—the crowds and the nature. I think we showed immense character to come here in a must win game and to stand up, we have improved a lot. It was a great performance and it’s all about winning. We got over the line pretty comfortably in the end.”
He heaped praise on two young players—Sam Billings and Ben Duckett to set up the things up front. Billings on his first game after replacing injured Jasoy Roy hit 62 to settle the things while Duckett, played his first international series, scored two half-centuries, including a 63 in the last and third match to contribute in winning.
“Sam (Billings) has been around but pretty unlucky not to play more. I think the opening partnership settled the things and Ben Duckett I think has carried on from where he has been all summer. He hasn’t been overawed by anything. Just goes about playing the game the way he wants to.”
The new-look England adopted a mantra to play aggressive cricket but in the third match they need to curb the aggression to win the series.
Buttler clarified. “We wanted to be aggressive but I thought the two guys did that fantastically well, you need to get off to a good start, there were partnerships that built and in the end we lost a few wickets that kept Bangladesh interested. But the platform was good and we chased it successfully.”
