BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday urged all to put up a strong resistance imbued with the teaching of Islam against the government’s ‘misrule’, reports UNB. “It’s the duty of every person to be vocal against unjust, injustice, and misdeeds. Islam also teaches us this lesson,” she said in a message.
The message was issued on the occasion of holy Ashura to be observed in the country today, commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), grandson of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh). Khaleda said the greatest Prophet has directed all to resist injustice. “As his followers, it’s our duty to create a resistance against misrule and misdeeds of an anti-people regime which is hanging onto power illegally.”
Narrating the significance of Ashura, she said Imam Hussain embraced martyrdom at Karbala desert during his fight against injustice and unfairness. The BNP chief said the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hossain ® will remain as an example for all Muslims, including those in Bangladesh, to follow for establishing truth and justice.
