Bobby also to join as councillor

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s sister Sheikh Rehena’s son Radwan Mujib Siddique (Bobby) will join the Awami League’s (AL's) upcoming 20th triennial central council session as councillor, said party insiders. Rehena’s son Bobby will participate in the council session as a councillor from Dhaka North. Earlier, the party leaders said Prime Minister’s son Joy will also attend the council. This will be the duo’s first appearance in the central council session as councillors.
Talking to this correspondent at the party’s Dhanmondi political office, AL office secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap said, “Since Bobby is a resident of Dhaka North, he has been made a councillor of that unit of AL. He will be present as a councillor in the session.”
Replying to a question, Golap said, “Sheikh Hasina’s daughter Saima Wazed Putul will also be present in the council session. She has not been made a party councillor yet, as far as I know.”
“They might be given party posts, but I don’t know exactly what posts they will be given. The decision rests totally on Sheikh Hasina,” said Golap.
Party insiders said Joy, Bobby and Putul are the main attractions of the AL council this time. Party high-ups are also thinking of inducting the trio into the AL executive body, the highest policymaking body of the party. The AL will hold a lavish council session at Suhrawardi Udyan in the city at 10am on October 22–23.
