England all-rounder Moeen Ali found a bit of old England in their batting contrary to their bold approach which contributed in their stunning metamorphosis since their exit to the 2015 World Cup.
“I think the most disappointing is we batted a little bit like the old England for the first time in a couple of years that’s more disappointing the way we lost,” he said.
“We would rather lose the game playing the way we played in the last two years. So hopefully tomorrow we can play the way we have been batting and not just throw our wickets away. It was a decent pitch to bat on.”
Since Bangladesh got their mezzo, he knew it would be tough for them to prevent the hosts from continuing their winning streak in the bilateral series.
“ We are a different side now than we were before. I know last game we didn’t bat well. Bangladesh are good at home anyway, any ground at home. It just eggs us on to score big runs and win. It’s going to be a tough game for us we know that, they should have probably won the first game they let us off a little bit. We still have our best to come.”
As usually he also had to face a volley of question regarding the on and off field issues which came to the fore after the second match.
Ali said, that those things will fire both of the teams to come all guns blazing.
“I think it will just fire both teams up. I think both teams will be wanting to win more than before now. For us obviously Bangladesh have not lost a home series for six series now and we want to do that anyway. And I know some of our players, especially our captain will want to desperately want to win this game.”
“Regarding the game, some of the guys got heated up and that can happen in a competitive game I think we have players who can get heated up and also Bangladesh have players who can get heated up and that’s what it was really. That has sort of been put to bed now and we can concentrate on the game.”
