The five-day 13th National Furniture Fair has officially been launched yesterday at the International Convention City Bashundhara l with a slogan “my country my hope, to décor homes with indigenous furniture”.
“The sectors that government has decided to be prioritised, furniture is one of them. The government is assuring to assist or support more to make this industry more feasible,” said the Senior Secretary of Commerce Ministry Hedayetullah Al Mamun.
“Our export becomes costly because of higher import tariff. Currently, we are exporting to 13 countries around the world. We need more countries to be included in future,” said the Organizing Secretary of National Furniture Owner’s Association Abdul Karim Majumder.
Prominent furniture manufacturers like; Brothers, Hatil, Bengal, Regals and Nadia have been participated in this fair. A lot of companies are offering 10 to 15 per cent discount on their products at the fair.
The fair would be open from 10am to 9pm everyday. Renowned local 26 furniture manufacturer and marketing companies have been participating this time.
