Two-day orientation programme held at United International University
A two-day orientation programme for the newly admitted students of Fall 2016 trimester of United International University (UIU) was held at the UIU auditorium recently, says a press release.
Newly admitted students in the School of Business & Economics and School of Science and Engineering participated in the orientation programme.
UIU Vice-Chancellor M Rezwan  Khan presided over the ceremonies while  Pro-Vice Chancellor Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Dean, School of Business & Economics Abul Hasnat Md Golam Azam; EEE Professor Md Fayyaz Khan; BBA Programme Director Joarder Md Hasanur Raihan; Registrar ASM Salahuddin, MBA Assistant Programme Coordinator Ali Haider Al Mamun Mridha, EEE Undergraduate Program Coordinator Kaled Masukur Rahman, CSE Undergraduate Programme Coordinator Swakkhar Shatabda spoke on the programmes. Heads of different departments, teachers, guardians, students and the invited guests were present in the programmes. 
 The speakers said providing quality education is the prime concern of this university. The speakers also advised the students to be more attentive to their academic studies to face the challenges of 21st century.
 
Workshop on integrated library management system held at ULAB    
ULAB Library organised a three-day training workshop on ‘Integrated Library Management System-KOHA’ recently with Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID) at ULAB Campus B, Dhanmondi, Dhaka. Total 35 participants attended at the workshop from different institutions. 
ULAB Vice Chancellor (Acting) Professor Imran Rahman delivered his speech as chief guest at the certificate awarding ceremony. 
Among others, Mofidul Hoque, Member, BoT, Liberation War Museum, Segunbagicha, Dhaka, Professor Md Kaykobad, Dean, EEE, Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) delivered their speech as Special Guest.  Dr Mirza Mohd Resaul Islam, Librarian, IUT & Training Coordinator, BALID & BIIM and Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Chairman, BALID & BIIM also spoke in the occasion. 
Professor Akhtar Ahmed, Registrar, ULAB, Joint Librarian of ULAB KM Hasan Emam and other Admin Officers were present at occasion.  
Programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr Sumon Rahman, Coordinator, Library Affairs and Associate Professor, MSJ, ULAB.
