One arrested with firearms in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested an arms trader with firearms and two rounds of bullets from Kadamtali area under Doublemooring thana in the city yesterday, reports BSS.
The arrested was identified as Mohammad Robiul Hossain,26, son of Tamij Uddin, hailed from Laksham upazila of Comilla district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted a raid in the area and arrested arms trader Robiul, with a shutter gun and two bullets, said Chandan Debanat, senior assistant director of RAB-7.  A case was filed with Doublemooring Thana in this connection.
Another report adds: Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a series of drive arrested 71 people from different areas in the city during the last 24 hours. They also seized 1,657 yaba tablets, 100 liters liquor and one kilogram hemp during the drives, police said. Six cases were filed with concerned police stations.
