Two construction workers were killed and 10 others sustained injuries as a roof of an eight-storey under-construction building collapsed on the Korotoa River in Bograati in the district town yesterday evening. One of the deceased was identified as Abdul Momin, 34, son of Tuku Mia of Baroipara village in Bogra Sadar upazila, while identity of another deceased could not be known immediately. Younus Ali, assistant director of Bogra Fire Service and Civil Defence, said suddenly, a portion of the roof collapsed on the workers around 6:30pm and many were trapped under debris. Several workers were working in the construction site of TMSS Medical College and Rafatullah Community Hospital. On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and rescued the victims. They are now undergoing treatment at the same
hospital, fire service official said. Seven of the injured identified as Ripon, 30, Faruque, 32, Khorshed Alam, 28, Roky, 23, Uzzal, 30, Jahurul, 28, Abdur Rouf, 30.
