Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Benoit-Pierre Laramee accorded a reception to Bangladesh Under-16 women football team yesterday for achieving a great feat with qualifying in the AFC Under-16 Championship final round.
Held at the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Bhaban, the High Commissioner Benoit-Pierre Laramee of Canada accorded the reception in celebration with the International Day of the Girl Child 2016. He congratulated the Bangladesh Under-16 women football team for showing excellent performance throughout the tournament.
Bangladesh Under-16 women football team, in their qualifying competition won their all five matches to storm into the final round, last month.
He told the players, “I have gone through all your stories and background, I think this victory will boost up you to face the challenges in future and to achieve your dreams. I hope to see one day the Bangladesh women’s national team competition with the Canadian team.”
BFF President Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin also spoke on the occasion.
Abdus Salam Murshedi, BFF senior vice-president and Mahfuja Akter Kiron, BFF women wing deputy chairman were also present during the reception.
