India, Pakistan and Afghanistan men’s team won their respective matches in the Islami Bank IHF Trophy International Handball tournament yesterday.
Held at the Captain Mansur Ali Handball Stadium, in the day’s first match, India thrashed Sri Lanka by 52-14 goals with leading the first half by 30-6. Nidish was the highest scorer with 11 goals.
In the second match Pakistan defeated Nepal by 32-16 goals and led the first half by 14-11 goal. Mozammel scored highest 10 goals for the winners.
Afghanistan earned a hard fought 24-22 goals victory over Maldives with leading the first half by 13-11 goals with Mohammed Shahir scoring nine goals for the winners.
In the women’s division, Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan by 18-16 goals, winners led the first half by 10-9 goals. Shuvashi scored the highest 12 goals for Sri Lanka women.
Indian women trounced Nepal by 24-7 goals, Pakistan women team also crushed their Maldives counterpart by 31-8 with leading the first half by 12-5.
