GAZIPUR: Gazipur district administration on Monday called off the rescue operation and removal of rubbles at the fire-ravaged factorty of 'Tampaco Foils Ltd', reports UNB.
SM Alam, deputy commissioner of Gazipur, declared the conclusion of the drive in the morning from a programme in the city.
Lt Col Shafiul Azam, official of 14th Independent Engineers Brigade, Asadur Rahman Kiron, acting mayor of Gazipur city, and officials of police and the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) were present at the programme. “We have decided to call off the rescue operation as there is no possibility to recover any more body from the site,” said the DC.
Earlier on September 10, a fire, apparently triggered by a boiler explosion, at the packaging factory killed at last 39 people and injured nearly 40 while the blaze collapsed parts of the four-storey building.
